The night before this year's spring conference, we will be hosting a social event that will give students the chance to highlight their research and area school psychologists the change to highlight how they are practicing across the various domains of practice through our first even gallery walk.  Additionally, school psychologist Dr. Robert Kirk Jr. will be hosting a book talk in which he will discuss his book Make Mis-Takes for Better Grades.  Student presentations and the gallery walk will take place from 5:30-6:30, and Dr. Kirk's presentation will take place from 6:30-7:30.

School psychologists can earn 2 CEUs for attending this event and participating in both the poster sessions and book talk.  The cost of the event is only $5 for school psychologists and includes one complimentary glass of wine plus light refreshments.

Do you want to show your administrator the importance of expanding the role of the school psychologist beyond testing?  Plan to bring them to this presentation to show them all the great things that school psychologists can do in the schools.  Administrators are welcome for just $2.50 with your paid admission.  Bring your student intern for just $2.50 as well with your paid admission.

About Dr. Kirk

Dr. Robert Kirk Jr. is a licensed clinical psychologist and a nationally certified school psychologist who specializes in the assessment and correction of learning difficulties.  Dr. Kirk earned his doctorate from the University of Massachusetts- Amherst researching and testing the Self Correction Program.  The results of his doctoral study indicated significant improvement in coping with Mis-Takes, attention spans, and oral reading rate, while reducing anxiety.  Dr. Kirk is also the first to emphasize and demonstrate that make Mis-Takes, admitting Mis-Takes, accepting Mis-Takes, and self-correcting Mis-Takes is essential for new learning.  His research further emphasizes the positive impact that the family has on reading success.
